What's New? :

04/07/06: Bracken/O'Hara back on form

The first 2 races of this week have seen Damien Bracken & Brian O'Hara return to their winning form. With Bullets on both Monday and Tuesday night they have reasserted their position in the fleet. The Monday night race was hotly contested with John Walsh/Niamh O'Rourke who led for the most part, just loosing out to Bracken and O'Hara in the closing stages. The same fate awaited Hugh Johnson & David Barry tonight who led for a good proportion of the race before being caught. The Clarke brothers have suffered badly in the light airs, with third position both nights. Bringing up the rear was Alan Murnane and Kevin Morrissey who were late for the gun.

27/06/06: Can no-one stop them?

We are now 6 contested races into the new season and the Clarke's continue to dominate the fleet. With 5 firsts and an unlucky second to date, it certainly appears that there is no-one else up to the challenge. Fleet numbers on the water are still very small considering the number of fireballs on the hard. Hugh and Donal made a welcome return at the weekend as did John and Niamh. We look forward to a much larger turn out next week with racing on Sat, Mon, Tues, Wed & Thurs. The results to date will be posted on the Sunday following the next race series.

19/06/06: Clarke Brothers Dominate first 3 Races

The season has been slow to kick off but there has been nothing slow about the Clarke Brothers in Raging Hull. With 3 firsts under their belt in the first 3 races; most recently beating Damien "Salmon of Knowledge" Bracken and Brian O'Hara in a thrilling race this evening. The Clarke's took an early lead on the first beat but The Salmon/Brian managed to get ahead on leg 3. Their position swap was short lived as the Clarke's performed a few masterfully executed roll tacks in an exhilarating tacking duel to retake the lead and maintain it for the rest of the race. The fleet makes a welcome return to Brendan Hughes and David Fitzpatrick who are back sailing with us. We hope to see more people on the water for the remainder of the week as there are races on Tue,Wed & Thurs.

Please note that we have a number of crewing positions available at the moment. Please contact Brian Nolan if you are interested (see Contacts section)
